SHIO MISSION STATEMENT
To empower Tanzanians in rural, urban and peri-urban areas through the provision of education on life skills for awareness on civic matters, entrepreneurship and human rights including of women, men, children, youth, the elderly and rights of people with disability so as to improve their well-being and enable them to learn and take action, develop innovative culture and hard working spirit for poverty alleviation for a better society.

Sustainable Holistic Initiatives Organization (SHIO) is a national charity, Not for Profit, Non Governmental Organization formed in 2011 and gained legal status in 2014 with certificate of registration number 00NGO/00007620.
SHIO is a capacity building organization supporting communities to undertake their development initiatives through working on enabling environment to improve basic services Economically, Socially, technologically and Culturally as well as leadership matters. It is the role of organization in accelerating service delivery in water Hygiene and Sanitation, Agriculture and food security, Environmental, Nutrition, Maternal and Child Health Care, Youth Empowerment as well as fight for children Rights. Policy analysis, Advocacy and governance issues that have direct impact to youth, Women, Children and communities in General are also implemented as the most important elements for enabling transparency and accountability in bringing about positive results and ultimately reduction of poverty. It also supports creation of strong and vibrant communities by facilitating access to relevant information in regard to development and hence advocating for changes in the society and the country as a whole.
